Meet the Teacher

Jessica Tovesson is a native Swedish speaker located in Chicago, IL, and the founder of Learn Swedish Now, LLC. She provides customized Swedish education for individuals, government organizations, and private industry. 

Prior to relocating to Chicago, Mrs. Tovesson was the Assistant Principal and a teacher at The Swedish School in Washington, DC. She also taught the Swedish language and the culture to professional adults, preparing them for career advancement in Sweden. Mrs. Tovesson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B. Ed.) from Stockholm University, Sweden, and has taught in public and private schools both in Sweden and the US for more than 15 years. In addition to Swedish and English, she also speaks conversational German and Spanish. Prior to moving to the USA in 2006, Mrs. Tovesson volunteered at The Swedish Red Cross as a teacher in CPR and First Aid.

She loves to travel internationally and has a deeply rooted interest in languages, cultural exchange, and education.

Living and working in the US since 2006, she maintains strong connections with Sweden and visits family and friends every year where she enjoys spending time in nature and admiring the beautiful sunsets on Öland.
